When it comes to ergonomics, the 40.8 millimeter wide case – seen in white gold here – is one that should feel comfortable on most wrists; as much as large watches may be "in" (and there are some more comfortable ones out there, for sure), most will agree that a smaller watch with less weight and a more ergonomic fit will be more comfortable to wear, especially over longer time periods. The H. Moser & Cie Endeavour Perpetual Calendar Funky Blue also features a cool case design element that we would really like to see more often, which is a curved case back and rear sapphire crystal. As opposed to sitting flat on the wrist, the curved case back allows the watch to wrap around in a more comfortable and secure way, again, making for superior wearing comfort.

As noted, the lumed dials are available either in green, light blue or purple colors, while the hands and indices are in all instances green. The first two options are sold with a polished stainless steel case while the latter, purple, is available in a black DLC coated steel case. All components are, of course, of very high quality, with my – and probably most everyone's – favorite part being the skeletonized "upper dial" and the trademark "Moonface" phase of the Moon indicator of Sarpaneva, exposed on a large opening at the 6 o'clock position.
ABTW: Fair enough – seems like the Seiko's have "scratched the itch," so to speak. Do you think you'll move on from your current list of grails?
The MegaWind made its debut in 2013 not just as a new version of the HM3, but also as a complete replacement of the original. While the "first-gen" HM3 had smaller and less visible hour and minute markings, it also had a smaller winding rotor, giving space for a date display that was set into the large, semi-circular opening on the dial side. The MegaWind did away with that indication and, instead, it offered a larger "Battle Axe" winding rotor – another unmistakable MB&F design element.
Blancpain has released a brand new high-complication timepiece in its L-Evolution collection that I think finally answers the question of "what is the L-Evolution watch family all about?" For 2015, we have the Blancpain L-Evolution Tourbillon Carrousel whose in-house made caliber 2322V2 movement contains both a carrousel and tourbillon which are visible on the dial - something which Blancpain did in the past with a more conservative timepiece in 2013. Now, the same concept and a revised version of that movement exist in a modern-style ultra-watch that might finally point to where the exotic Blancpain L-Evolution watch collection is going.
Oster Jewelers: Denver is a city of extremes. We have a lot of sports and outdoors enthusiasts. It's no surprise that this crowd has really embraced Bremont, a watch "Tested beyond Endurance." Our clientele tends to favor functional, well-made timepieces which exude quality yet retain a more understated presence. We also have a fantastic core business community. Many top level executives live in Denver and travel for business. Our location in the center of America makes for an ideal base. The business client really appreciates the level of knowledge and education that we provide. Audemars Piguet is always a top choice for those with affluence and taste. It is especially appealing due to the excellence in technical quality combined with a luxury status that appeals to those who know, but it can still fly under the radar in other situations. The more conservative Denver client also appreciates the proven, timeless appeal of established leaders in Haute Horlogorie such as Audemars Piguet, Parmigiani Fleurier and Ulysse Nardin. On the other hand, Hublot holds tremendous appeal and is firmly established as one of our sports watch favorites.
More interesting, however, is the use of the blue dial from Nomos’ high-end Lambda, a distinct shade that the German company refers to as Deep Blue — a fitting name. This makes it the only blue model currently in the Club collection. It’s also probably the boldest Club, thanks to high-contrast red accents like the seconds hand and minute markers. But, perhaps the most impressive element is that the Nomos Timeless Club features fully luminescent hands and numerals like its Dunkel predecessor making it extremely legible at night.
It doesn't matter whether you are totally stoked about the Apple Watch or don't want one at all, you have to admit Apple has done a clever job with a product segment (smartwatches) which has a lot of potential, but not a lot of current pizzazz. Apple knows that male consumers are waiting for answers to the question "Will the Apple Watch work well, and what does it do for me?" With the impending Apple Watch launch, that will all be answered in due course, but the more interesting questions they are attempting to answer are for female consumers, who should ideally represent 50% of Apple Watch buyers.
Speaking with the enigmatic Ballouard himself is an intimidating prospect. He is a taciturn intellectual, whose ponytail, round glasses, and artistically sculpted goatee are at odds with his powerful build. His assistant, who does most of the talking for the talented Frenchman, explained to me that hundreds of mother of pearl pieces do not make the grade or shatter during application. The marquetry process, however painstaking, is undeniably worth it.
Flipping the watch back once again to its shiny steel case back, Cross notes how the blank canvas of the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso’s flipped case back would prove ideal to mark a personal milestone like, say, being nominated for your first Academy Award. “I knew I would like the Reverso because it’s an icon, but when I actually wore one, it immediately became a must-have,” he says. “It’s really the ideal watch to commemorate something momentous in your life. It just calls for that.” jaeger-lecoultre.com
